Peter has become a Childrens Arts Champion by becoming a patron of
Action for Childrens Arts.
It is no surprise that organisations such as UNICEF put the UK at the bottom of the pile for children’s well being in developed countries. Our selfish and undemocratic society has ignored the proper development of the next generation. We over-test and under stimulate our young people. We create bureaucracies that prevent the mentoring and involvement of adults in young people lives and stigmatise the poor as scroungers. Creativity is the spark that will set children on a journey to help lift them out of poverty, to feel a productive part of their culture. By connecting to the arts in all its forms we can stimulate a fairer and inclusive country.
Peter is also now a patron Youth Music Theatre.
A DVD celebrating Peter's time as Chief Scout and his documentary on climbing Everest is out now.
